Local election candidate, James Doyle and his campaign team are encouraging the community to support and spread the word of registering to vote in the forthcoming local elections.
Doyle says “Ever since my campaign began three months back, people at the doorstep have told me that they were unaware of how easy it is to register. Maybe it’s the lawyer in me but I feel strongly that one of the most fundamental rights we have as citizens in our democracy is our entitlement to vote, and so I feel obliged to be creative to grab people’s attention.”
Doyle and his campaign team have since created an animated video which can be watched on Youtube called ‘Vote! Get Registered & Get Heard’.”The purpose of the Youtube video”, Doyle says “is to quickly show residents who are new to the area, E.U citizens, as well as those who are unaware, that is a very quick and easy process”.
Doyle’s campaign team are also posting a number of fun and witty pictures on another social platform, Facebook, in an effort to get the message out on the run up to the application deadline for registry on the supplement which is Tuesday, 6th May, 2014.
